Ingredients for Natural Green Dye
- 2 Cups Fresh Spinach
- 1 Cup Water
Directions for Natural Green Dye
- Clean spinach thoroughly
- Place spinach in a medium sized sauce pan and add water
- Bring water and spinach mixture to a boil and boil for 15 minutes
- Remove from heat, and allow to cool slightly (10 minutes)
- Add spinach and water into a high power blender or a food processor and blend until smooth
- Pour blended spinach and water through a strainer to remove big pieces, and then strain through cheese cloth
- Keep green dye in air tight container and store in fridge for 2 weeks
Ingredients for Natural Green Pancakes
- 1 Cup + 2 Tablespoons Sticky Fingers Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix
- 1/4 Cup Milk or Water
- 1/4 Cup Green Dye
Directions for Pancakes
- Preheat a griddle over medium-low heat
- In a bowl combine; pancake mix, milk/water, and dye.
- Add small amount of butter or oil to griddle
- Pour 1/4 cup batter onto hot griddle
- Cook on each side for 2-5 minutes
- Enjoy warm
Note:
If you choose to refrigerate your green dye, natural separation will occur. Just mix it back together before using.
